Lakes have a TON of settling room (there are “oceans” they are just lake-sized). I’m playing a small game in which I should’ve added another AI or two because it’s nearly turn 250 and there is a ton of good ground to still settle. I think seven seas kind of balances that.

7 seas offers great variety and fun. probably my fav map type, though I crazylike coninents&island and lakes mapscript and if I don't go specific VC, any fractals are fine. But it also depends on preffered victory: domination: Terra. science: pangea / 7seas. diplo: definitely lakes/inland sea in favor of lakes.

If u just manage cities well and become more experienced at the game u should automatically fall into getting a science victory or domination victory way before the turn limit is reached.
